AVIC-N2 navigation unit question

do you need to have the DVD navigation disc in all the time for the unit to be able to use navigation.

well, we can bypass that, but we had a customer today that was asking and i dont want to take it out and hook it up if someone knows if you NEED the navigation disc in to use it, or not, i think you just have to put it in to load the maps, and then it stays saved.

i guess my real question is, can i use navigation while playing a CD?
