Yes but 0/1 gauge is better.Another question... do you think 4 AWG can run ~1250 RMS?

lol....my amp always puts out rated power:fyi://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gifWow, someone does still know what a wire sizing chart is. I had started to think using one was a lost art form around here.
edit: oh and using amplifier output to size your wire is a lousy way to figure it.
do you remember to take into account length of wire? knu 4 gauge is rated to 120 amps over what distance?i usually go by the fuse sizes in the amp to determine maximum amperage draw and then pick a wire thats rated for that draw.
e.g. an amp that has 2 50A fuses would be 100 amps of current draw, and Knu 4ga is rated to 120 amps, so I go with 4ga. If draw is over 110A I go ahead and bump up to 1/0. i like to give myself some overhead, and I fuse for the amperage rating of the wire
My point was it ignores amplifier efficiency when you size wires by amplifier output... even when using actual measured output, not just rated output. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.giflol....my amp always puts out rated power:fyi://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif
even when the volume is 0
