Auto Wire Strippers

I have a set like #2 and they work well on larger gauge wires (12-8 gauge).

I'd recommend a set like these however:

I haven't gone a day at work without using my set of automatic stippers like the ones pictured above...they are the shit.

those are the best, i think they're $15 at lowes, or $40 at autozone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

i've had the cheap ones that look like a dinosaur (#2) and they kinda ****....

the lowes ones are the best i've used, don't know what happened to 'em tho.

1 thing i'll mention is any of them will have a hard time with small (read: 22ga or smaller) wires with hard plastic sheathing... but any wire strippers do.

#1 will strip wires in the middle, without cutting. #2 will only strip the ends.

The best wire strippers I have ever used are Kronus from Radio Shack. They look like the ones in Snova's post but heavier duty. I've used them over and over again every day for over 3 years now with no problems.

How much, and wut size wires?

I really only use my front-load strippers (#2) for 8 or 10 gauge wire, as it is much better at stripping larger wire then the side-load ones that I pictured above.

I have 3 pairs of the ones pictured and love them...like I said, I use them in at least one install every day...
