didn't have one in mind in particular, just wanted to know if they were generally comparable(better/worse) than aura and profile since I hear all three are considered "budget" amps. would the quality vary in different models for hifonics amps? What Hifonics amp model?
Whoa! Where did you get those bench results? Makes me want to buy the 2300 now. I was wondering why it had two 40 amp fuses.I am about to pull out my Arc KAR's(400.2 and 200.2) inplace of an Aura 4200 and 2300. The 4200 benched at 96x4 @4ohms and 203x2 bridged. The 2300 benched @784 bridged. They are an incredible bang for the buck and solid build quality. I would definitely go with the Aura's.

Do you happen to know how much power out of those 80 amps that the 2300 takes up? If you can... I suggest making a new thread in the amplifiers section with this info. Many people are curious.I was curious about the output and it didn't come with a "birthsheet" so the guy who is helping me with my install tested them at his shop and that is what they showed. I was amazed to say the least, changed the subs that I was going to use since I really didn't expect to have that much power. They are built like tanks, Eddie(my buddy) went out and ordered 4 of the 2300 and a 4200 for his install he was so impressed. I am installing mine this afternoon.
What sub will the 2300 be running on? Let us know how it does after you get it installed

You sure it was 96x4 @ 4 ohms and not 2? That's nearly double the rated power! That seems too much if it's 203x2 bridged @ 4 ohms. If it is the case then these are definitely the most bang for the buck amps around right now.I am about to pull out my Arc KAR's(400.2 and 200.2) inplace of an Aura 4200 and 2300. Drooooool.... lol.... I'm so tempted to buy 2 of the 2300s, one for each of my CompVR woofers. They would probably make my car dim like a mofo with my 80a stock alternator though. And I'm sure that my 4 guage wiring wouldn't cut it for 3 amps (80a, 80a, 60a). That's the overall stuff that I'm worried about. That's why I asked you about the power consumption the other day.So installed the Aura amps yesterday and had a full day in the car with them today and let me just say this, this was the best $200 I have invested in my system in a long time. The 4200 is smooth and warm, almost tube like compared to my Arc KARs which seemed kind of "thin" at times. I am running a DLS UR36 3 way set up in the doors and dash they sing. Very Impressed. For the subs I have a pair of Kicker Comp CVR8's in a 1.25 cuft sealed box and they had a hard time handling the output, dropped the gains down from the 1/2 way mark to about 1/4 down and they were great. Tons of power and headroom. I highly reccomend them.
