Want the AP 3000? It does do rated power.

Just to clarify the AP30001D is rated to do 1500 watts RMS x 2 into 1 ohm or 3000 watts RMS x 1 into 2 ohms mono @ 13.8v with >1% THD from the factory, it is a 2 channel subwoofer amp (think of it as two AP15001D in one case). It can also take up to 16v for more power but no one has done a test at that voltage with this amp yet.

This guy did 2560 watts @ 3.7 ohm with 12.5v




...and this guy did 1868 watts @ 4.5 ohm with 11.8v

^^remember that an amp doesn't "see" a constant ohm load from your subs, a speaker is a reactive load and it changes its impedance according to frequency and box design.

Mine's just chillin in my closet right now, I'll probably end up selling it later to downsize.

both made in China so about the same thing if i was you i'd pick which ever has the heatsink with the most bling to impress your friends....

i just got my aq750 in the mail today. made in Korea right on the side of the box. and you can see the quality when you pop off the back panel.

that said. for his situation the ap will probably work a bit better. just because of the 2 ohm load.

Korean/Taiwan/Japan amps are excellent. I think some old-school PPI amps are made in Korea, old school Proton amps(these are incredible) are made in Taiwan and Japan makes Nakamichi and a few others.

But remember China is a huge country and there are good and bad factories, I'm sure if you pay them a little more the quality would go up. I'm rocking a Cerwin Vega amp that's made in the USA though, it sounds pretty awesome.

So i'd be better of getting the ap and having the gains set and all, due to i'll only be needing 2/3s of the power at 2ohms bridge (2000watts). But if i wanted to run the amp at 1ohm to each sub, are there 2 sets of terminals? also if not either of these, what would be a better selection for my price range? bout $400max. i'm not trying to budget to harsh, but i dont see spending more than that. if this helps, i'd be runnning zero gauge back and running an addition alpine f300.4 amp to my speakers.
