I haven't used both, but have heard both AQ and AP products, simple as AQ>AP.Get the AP save some money, set the gains accordingly and enjoy. anybody that says otherwise is just nut hugging. I have used both.
I know you know what ur talking about, its just about time that someone spelled it out for teh knuckleheads around here. That's basically what I said in the first place.
Lol. I know what I'm talking about, I've messed with a bunch of these.
yes, i have pointed that out,has no1 noticed he wants 2k @ 2ohm..aq2200 WILL NOT give you that power at 2ohm
but no one pays attention to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gifYou would have to go with the aq3500 to get 2k @ 2ohms... and thats a good bit more than an AP3k
You are right Buck, vminovations lists the product as 3000RMS at 1 ohm, but I double checked and the 3000.1 puts out 3000 @ 2 ohms bridged. Thank you for proving my point even further however, as the OP is getting 3000RMS @ 2 ohms bridged (so say 2500 RMS conservative clean power from the AP) whereas he only is getting less then 1/2 that if the AQ 2200 puts out more then rated power (1100RMS @ 2ohms). My only AP experience is with the 1501 which my brother has had absolutely zero issues with(1 ohm stable and puts out 1500x1 @ 1ohm, so I just assumed the 3000.1 would be the same, and vminnovations led me to believe I was right). In anycase, 320 dollars for an overrated 3000RMS @ 2 ohms compared to 400+(with shipping) for a a slightly underrated 1100RMS @ 2 ohms.its 3000 bridged at 2 ohms, 1500 rms on each channel @ 1 ohm each
They are durable, just not my style //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gifYou are right Buck, vminovations lists the product as 3000RMS at 1 ohm, but I double checked and the 3000 puts out 3000 @ 2 ohms bridged. So in essence what your saying for this particular application, you would rather spend over 400 dollars to get an amp that may do slightly over 1100 RMS @ 2ohms of clean power (AQ 2200), over an amp that will cost over 80 dollars less shipped to door (AP 3000.1) that may be slightly over rated 3000RMSx1 @ 2ohms. I mean even if he only gets 2/3 of rated power to be a clean signal (2000 watts) sent to the subs, it is still nearly double the power for 20 percent less overal cost. If your argument is based on durable an amp is, and how much it can be abused before failing, the AQ will come out on top everytime, but that is a different argument alltogether. For daily usage (not wiring to obsurdly low impededances, and trying to eek out an extra .1 or .2) and relative price the, AP cannot be beat.if i was running daily i would want my amp to do rated...
My other gripe about this comment is I would like you to explain how different 1300 clean watts (an overrated 1500 watt amp on the safe side) sounds to the ear (as well as how it meters for that matter) compared to a full clean 1500 watts. I mean, in my personal experience a 10 percent increase in power is not that substantial of a gain to either the ear or the meter. The difference can also easily be made up with spending extra on proper box design, rather then extra money for an amp that does rated power.if i was running daily i would want my amp to do rated...
Hey man, you can throw me right in the nuthugger category with you, I have 2 sundown 2500s strapped and loving every minute of it, but when money is an issue, which it is for many people building a system, their entire budget may be less then someone else is able to spend on 1 sub or 1 amp.I'm a nut hugger, what can I say.
Now if we are talking about 0 gauge, I'll take that AP ish all day long. I get it for the cheapz.
