Our biggest concern with Chinese production was glue joints. We have spent a great deal of time on that very issue and are very satisfied with the production methods and quality control that have been implemented in the production of the sub. Some Chinese listen, learn and implement if you pay them enough.ah got ya, was just wondering how you could really prototype test if your doing the glueing here and not there. After all most build issues w/ china built subs are from crappy glue joints, not bad materials.
I'd love to test one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
The first container was due to ship this last week but got delayed because of some Chinese holiday. I have been told they will ship this week.x2, very excited about these
I can take more sometime if you like. It's nothing special really. Single layer 3/4 MDF for everything but the baffle, which is double layer. I built the box for the original prototype I had with the 12 spoke china basket, but the new proto has the DD basket, so the mounting depth is deeper with the DD basket and the woofer hit the aeroport. I had to ghettofab that MDF ring underneath the sub so that it would fit in the box with the increased mounting depth. The 6 inch aeroport is homemade, and is almost as deep as the box. There are no other braces, or rounding on the inside of the box at this current point in time. It's considerably louder than I expected considering the simplicity of the box, and the tuning.interesting box you go there anymore pics ?
Im thinking about building something for my 4runner .
i tested about every variation there is in this model explorer. did it all with a single 15'' driver and 1 6'' aero. on the meter for me it was .1 louder sideways vs. sub up. but then there are louder combinations then those two listed.have you tried turning the box so that its sub up port back? If you have Does it get louder the way you have it, and is their a difference in how it sounds between the two?
ah got ya, i was guessing from the ring that there was something special going on inside of there lolI can take more sometime if you like. It's nothing special really. It's louder to the side this time, but that isn't always the case. It has to do with the way the woofer loads, in combination with the box and the car. There is no loudest direction to fire it, just loudest for the box. Not much difference in the way it sounds.have you tried turning the box so that its sub up port back? i have the same car as you. in my case with my speaker i used sideways was not the loudest. It's louder to the side this time, but that isn't always the case.
