I see people running 2200d's at .5 ohm so it has to be around 2500rms with good electrical and the sub was fine?........whats a good 2ohm.....2000w amp

is that a teary-eyed hatchet wound i smell? there is a 1 in 100 chance that your local car audio shop/buddy has an oscilloscope to set the gains by. then a 1 in 100 chance they/he know(s) how to use it if they/he did have one. take it to the old man in the back of an electronics repair store and you've got a 100 in 100 chance. i'd stick with the law of averages and make a sure bet..............personally.

that last sentence of mine sounded almost identical to "so ur tring to tell me that my buddy has no idea but has one of the loudest trucks on the east coast". however close those two may sound to you, that's not what i said. but I will say that a buddy of mine, name withheld, 14 time world champion and tied for most championships in dB Drag history with Steve Cook also had trophies and championships and awards and records etc etc, blah blah....used to turn all of his gains wide @ss open, and didn't think that knowing the impedance curve amounted to anything. that's the extent of what a record holder and world champion titles amount to, nothing directed at your buddy personally.
