Audiopipe question

He's not saying 6kw each...He'ssaying 3kw watts each, which they will not take either! I would only go up to 1500 on the level 3 with level 4 coil! It would be perfect for the subs!
Yeah lol I meant 3kw, that was a typo haha.

For the standard level 3's I'd stick around 650-1k. Anything higher is asking for trouble lol.

Level 3 with the Lvl4 coil around 1-1.5kw as deathpenalty said //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif.

Oh, upon re-reading the OP, I see why the guy recommended two 3000's.

The OP states two 1500's to each sub.

If this really is what you meant, no, the subs will not take 3000w each.

I think the problem is wiring. Your subs are D2. Meaning two 2ohm voice coils per sub. Wiring the coils in parallel will give each sub a 1ohm load. You can either wire each sub to it's own AP1500 at 1 ohm(not recommended due to gain matching, easier to strap), or series the pair and run them at 2 ohm on an AP3000. Or strap the two 1500's and also run at 2 ohms.

OH shit! danm good catch x2o! And yes as he sais they will not take two 1500s a sub but each sub will take one 1500!

Or the OP could get one ap3000 and run one each sub down to 1 ohm and run one sub on 1 of the channels which=1500rms at 1 ohm and the other the same way! Just a suggestion that would also be the easiest way!

the 3000 is more expensive than two of the 1500s iirc. not by much but still.

1 d2 sub is 1 ohm final load so why not 1 ap1500 per sub or wire both subs at 2 ohm final and run 1 ap 3000

better yet get a real amp for those nice subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sorry for confusion, i was asking if i could run 1 ap1500 to 1 sub and another ap1500 to the other. Each sub would get it's own AP1500.

The reason i am asking this because i am planning a wall in the spring time, but for now i would just run 1 sub in my trunk on 1 ap1500, then in spring time i would buy another ap1500 an do my wall idea.

I also was told it's not good to run two amps to two subs it's better to run just one amp. reason for this? im just trying to make sure i make the right descion, i've already screwed up and bought d2's instead of d4's, thats why i am having this problem.

sorry if its confusing to any one.
