Audiopipe apcl1500.1d overheating

I have a fairly new Audiopipe apcl1500.1d pushing 2 12" precison power p12.d2 D4ohmVC rated at 800rms each.

I have them wired at 1ohm and yes the amp is stable at 1ohm its giving them about 1300rms total @1ohm

My problem now is that after 15-20min my amp will go into protection mode until it cools,i have my gain about a 1/4 of the way and its hitting pretty darn good.

Any suggestions on how i can prevent My amp from overheating?

Also i havent yet upgraded my stock alternator or added and extra battery but i do have a 500k capacitor. Could the lack of power supply be the problem?

What's your voltage at the amp like? Either your over working the amp/asking to much from it or there is no ventilation and the amp can't cool itself.

Two dual 2s can't wire at 1ohm. You are probably at .5ohm with is killing your voltage

you are at half ohm buddy. Also lose the capacitor, does more harm then good.

I think he has d4 coils because he says he says 12" d2 4ohm

Im sorry they're the D4 series not the dual 2ohm.But my voltage is reading about 14.0-14.1 when the car is on, im also running quality 4g power and ground wire

About 14.0-14.1 and i have the amp in the trunk on the floor in front of the box with the seats down when im blasting it

Might have to switch that 4 gauge to 2 gauge.

Also have you done the big 3 yet? Battery/alt can be had at a later time...unless you got the $$ to spend now, but it's up to you.

I'd do the big 3 myself 1st tho...

Haven't done the big 3 yet but i will go that way soon,i have two big computer fans that ill probably throw in under the amp by the vents on an amp rack im building tommorow
