After all the good words about the Audiopipe amps for budget power I bought the 15001d back in October. I have it pushing 2 RF power 10's 4 ohm DVC wired at 1 ohm in a ported box. It sounded really good and people couldn't believe it was only 2 10's in my suv.
Recently it started going in and out of protect mode. AP said they will send me a brand new one no questions asked so i am shipping it back as it is still under warranty.
I want to change out the 10's for two Diamond Audio d3 15's and have a custom ported box built for them.
The d3's are only rated at 500wrms which is 100w less then the RF's but with 50% more cone I am assuming it will be much louder.
My question is should I get the 2ohm dvc and run the circuit on the AP at 2ohms for 950wrms would that be enough power not leaving any headroom? Should I sell the AP and get an AP 18001d 1150wrms @2ohms or a Hifonics BRZ1700 which runs 1200wrms @ 2ohms or a similiar amp running at 2ohms? I am hesitant to run another amp at 1ohm as I think it is just too much to run daily at that low a load and I push my system a lot. I am in Florida so on top of the heat from running the amp there is plenty of heat just from the weather.
Any other amp suggestions for the Diamond Audio d3's at around $200?
