Audiobahn DUB 500?

Does anybody have experience with these, my friend picked one up despite me telling him Audiobahn is horrible. I built him a 4 cube box tuned to 35 and it sounded horrible. I know it is not the box because it was built to bring that woofer to life. I know the problem is the fact that he is running it off a stock ford radio, not even CD player, and a malfunctioning converter, and a 500 RMS Pioneer amp. I was just wondering if these subs can even get loud or sond decent or should I tell him to get a different sub again? i am thinking about different sub but he does not listen to me, maybe if I can get you guys input it will change his mind.

that is my opinion but he is on a budget from hell and is trying to do it as cheap as possible. He paid $50 for the sub from a pawn shop and it is a 15 that is all he looked at

Check his crossovers and ssf, if you have access toa dmm set the out put voltage with it.

If its the line out converter tell him get cd player from wall mart for $40 plenty of signal from the rca out and they don't skip, we put one in our rally hoopty and it doesnt skip flying sideways at 50+ mph over shatty gravel roads.

It does sound like the kind of guy who might have his power wire tapped into a fuse under the dash with a sketchy ground at best, check that stuff and get back to us, there is only so much we can recomend.
