Audiobahn amp problem

Hello,

My set up is

alpine 7995 HU

4 alpine speakers in doors

polk/momo 12" sub in hatchback enclosure

Audiobahn A8000T mono sub amp

Audiobahn A4004T 50w x 4 amp

My problem is with the A8000t sub amp. I have re checked my connections and wiring. I have a 4 gauge power and 4 gauge ground, correct rca and remote turn on lead, The amp turns on fine(all nice a blue with no protection light on)and is recognized by the HU. However when I plug the speaker wires into the amp and then touch the other ends together I get a tremendous spark. I have never known speaker wire to have so much of a charge going through them.( at first I connected them right to the sub and almost blew it. To troubleshoot, I hooked up the a4004t to my sub rca cables and then to the sub and everything seemed to work fine. So my question is, has anyone ever encountered this problem before, or does my amp have some defective circuitry going on inside??

Thanks for the help,

tbone
