I have recently installed a new audio system through Best Buy in my 2001 Olds Alero (specs are below). I am having trouble with my system when the music gets too loud. When my engine is not running, I can have my system as loud as I want, but once the engine is on, there's a limit to the intensity of the sound. I thought that it might have a "safe mode" where it would shut off to save the speakers, but when I found out that there's no limit when my engine is not running, I began to think that's not the case. When my engine is on and it does reaches this limit, just the sound cuts out to nothing, but the reciever still appears that its playing when I'm listening to my ipod plugged into the USB cord. In order for me to listen to music after this has happened, I have to turn off my car and turn it back on, something I don't want to do when I'm driving down the freeway trying to listen to my music. I have already taken it in to Best Buy and the guy was not sure what was happening. Does anybody know what's causing this and how I can get it fixed? Thanks.
(Specs: JVC kd-hdr50 for the reciever, an alpine sps-406 4x6 speaker on each side in the front and an alpine spr-69c 6x9 speaker on each side in the back, and i think it may be the merta axxess product number GMOS-01 for the wire harness.)
