Audio Pipe APSM 1300

So I just picked up this amp for an install in my GF's Honda

I bought it to power to Skar 12's

I read some reviews about the amp and people said it does rated.

I bought it cause I need 1,000 watts at 1 ohm (which it is rated for)

However the amp has an 80 amp fuse on it

It would have to be 100% efficient in order to almost make 1000 watts @ 12 volts

I bought this amp cause I was going to throw in my 2 JL Audio 500/1 amps to power the Skars but then decided they would be better in my new car I am getting soon.

So I only paid $100 for the Audiopipe

The Audiopipe can be strapped (I understand but could be wrong)

If I strapped 2 of them together what kind of power output would I have at the 1 ohm load?

Has anyone here clamped this amp?

What do you think it puts out at 1 ohm?

Thanks everyone in advance

It is an 80 amp external fuse

Anyway I just looked through the manual and strapped it can only handle a 2 ohm load

However at 2 ohm the amp puts out 600 watts rms which is the target I am going for.

So I think I am going to throw the Audiopipe in and see how I like it

I am guessing about 400 watts per speaker

If I feel it needs more I will add a 2nd amp and run each sub on its own amp

I still want to know if this amp can do 1000 watts at 1 ohm (doubtful)

Ok. ap anl fuses are highly under rated and ill leave it at that. The ap 1k have been clamped to do rated and then some. when strapping a pair at 2 ohms you will have 2000 watts not 600 .

cool - that is good news as 1 amp at 1000 watts works out better for me.

I was saying that I cannot strap the amps as my 2 - dual 4 ohm subs would have a 1 ohm load, below the 2 ohm that the amp handles strapped.

So I was saying my other option would be run 2 amps - each to 1 sub - each at 2 ohms - for 600 watts per sub (which is the RMS of the Skars)

but I am fine with 1 amp and 500 watts each sub.

thank you all for the info
