How can I erase the motherboard software? I have not even erased the windows software. I TRIED to but because it claims that it cannot find a hard drive at that point, it disallows me to proceed with the reformating or repair of the hard drive!you erased the windows software but did you try erasing the MOTHERBOARD software? not to treat you like your stupid but the motherboard software is not the same as the windows software.
Yes I did but it asks for a floppy. I have no floppy for any SATA drivers.i don't feel like reading all the crap... but did you f6 at the windows setup loading and load the drivers for SATA... windows doesn't have those otherwise, unless it's a custom build.
it should have come with the mobo.search the mobo's site.Yes I did but it asks for a floppy. I have no floppy for any SATA drivers.

Yes, thats a primary objective among drivers for hardware. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifif im not mistaken, the drivers are required to detect the drive, at least they were in ALL the circumstances ive had in the past.
first find the manual for your motherboard... It varies from computer to computer...but I had to use a paperclip on mine...you connect two points on the board and it erases the bios(read motherboard software)....windows is not involved...but if you havn't erased the windows software I would try that first by using fdisk or some other partitioning utility....this will erase everything on your comp as well though ...let me know I can give you more specific instructions on using fdisk and reformatting...How can I erase the motherboard software? I have not even erased the windows software. I TRIED to but because it claims that it cannot find a hard drive at that point, it disallows me to proceed with the reformating or repair of the hard drive!
It boots up and posts fine, but it stops where it says "Verifying DMI Pool Data....... Update Success" (before the XP logo screen), then it just STOPS there.
Any ideas?
