This was new to me, but paypal does what they call echeck. It allows people to pay for items without having a debit/credit card. I recently sold a cell phone on ebay, it was paid for with an echeck and took 9 days to clear before the funds were in my paypal account. So basically I paid paypal 3% for something I could have done myself.I could have had the guy send me a check and it would have cleared faster.

You can block the echeck payment by going to payment preferences on your pp homepage.

While the heads-up is appreciated PayPal has been doing e-checks for quite some time now.

And I already have that option unchecked in my payment preferences //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Thanks for the tip, though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i use echecks all the time and they only take about 3 days to clear. And most of it is paypal being slow. Its out of the account in like 24 hours...but paypal doesnt past payment for 2 more days.
