Attn Loud Trunks

I thought the sub I'm using right now would be power hungry, being an Rl-p motor with Fi softparts. I just threw it in for the hell of it and it ended up sounding really nice IB'd.
the sub is only seeing one channel of my 4channel amp (250w @ 2ohms), -7dB on the xover, and 5/15 sublevel

and it still gets loud. It's a mystery to me. I don't know why it works so well, but I like it.
I just noticed it has Fi soft parts. The Rl-P is actually a popular driver for home IB. Many on infinitely baffled have used it. I don't know what changes using the Fi parts has done though.

hows that gonna happen????
How? Because my friend,Teammate and fellow Judge DefJ is upgrading to a new dual set up and was gracious enough to sell me his.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Gotta love haveing Teammates!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Here are some vids of a team mate's car. It's an '06 Nissan Altima. The setup consists of 2 Rockford Fosgate T1 15s powered by a Sundown Audio prototype saz-2000d. The box is 6ft net volume w/ four 4" ports tuned to 33hz subs up ports forward. It hits 148.6s @ 40hz sealed on the TL mic on the windshield.

thats 6 cubbes what are the specs of box and has he tried those in trunk any other ways is that the loudest setup the way he has it.
Yes that box is 6ft net volume w/ four 4" ports tuned to 33hz. It's the loudest we've tried so far. What works for him might not work for you though.

Swweet pics! Porting into the cabin. Very nice. How does it sound like that? Proto 2K looks nice!
They sound great. He has a pair of the new Sundown Audio Z15 subs on pre-order to swap into place of the T1s. Then we'll be putting some extra power into the car. We had strapped a pair of saz-1500s in there but the T1s didn't last long with that much power. They did well though for only being 600watt rms subs but now he's skeptical about putting any real power into his new set of T1s. The Z15s though are rated 1000watts rms but have been tested with over 3kwatts repeatedly wiout any coil damage at all. There aren't any concerns with running a pair of saz-3000s on them for burps.

Here's a vid of a single sub setup in that car sub forward ports to the driver's side. This box was 3ft net volume w/ two 4" ports tuned to 33hz. It hit a 143.5db @ 40hz with a Kicker cvr 15 powered by a Sundown saz-1500d at maybe half power.

I don't know if anyone has noticed but the port area in these setups is on the low side. It truly needs about 50% more port area. In the single 15" sub setup using the exact same box in the vid above I saw a 0.5db gain by adding a 3rd 4" port. The problem in this car though is it likes extremely low tuning and hits it's best #'s tuned down to 32-33hz. With six 4" ports for the two 15" setup they would need to be 30" long to keep the same tuning which is impossible in this car. We're throwing aroung new designs to get the port area where it needs to be because in theory there could be a full 1db gain just by giving it an adequate amount.
