I just got a DD 9917b from a great guy on here (Hopes Audio) and a 04 Isuzu Rodeo and need some box plans. I don't mind making the box myself, but I would pay someone local to do it and arrange a pick up. So anyone in the SC, GA, NC, upper FL area who thinks they can put together an awesome daily driver box for this beast, pm me. For the rest of the experts, I have a decent size space to work with. I want to leave the middle row seats up and would like the sub to be up-firing since it's so **** heavy. But if you think it'll work better rear firing or front firing that's fine, I would just need some bracing ideas too. The max dimensions are 3.5 feet wide, 2.5 feet long, and a little over 2 feet high. I'm looking for a box that's around 10 cubes or so, at the very least 9 after all displacements. DD says tune to 40 hz for everything, but I like the lows. This thing is gonna be loud regardless and I don't plan on competing, so I was thinking down around 35 hz. However, if anyone has experience with DD subs and knows that they perform better in 40 hz boxes, let me know. I listen to rap music only. I have a little under 3kw for it and a ho alternator, so it's got decent power for a daily driver.
P.S. my neighbor has some Fusion 12s on a Memphis 500 watt amp and thinks he's gonna pwn me cuz he's never heard of DD. I said ***** go do some homework on em
