Id like to have a box made for my alpine type x 12, ported, and I have a certain dimension that I cannot go over. That dimension is not for sure at this point in time, ( I am at families: Xmas Eve ) I can find them later this evening. It will be going in the trunk part of a ***** am, I will be modifying the box that I currently have so that Itll function the same, but, it will be ported. If anybody would be willing to help me out let me know, and I will get you the dimensions. I have heard that 2 cubes at 30 hz works wonderfully as well as 2.5 at 32 hz. I would like to have great low end, while retaining sq, is that even possible in a ported box? or should I stay sealed?

also, since I am new to the ported world, if i in fact built or had this ported box built, do you then have to tune your amps lpf to a different frequency? or does that have NOTHING to do with it? lol

If you can read a tape measure, and use a table saw, nails and screws its not that hard.

As with any changes you have to adjust your amps LP to protect your speakers. Ported and Bandpass are real twitchy about size. So get the size right. You can use fiber fill to help it out.

Just remember these types of boxs can tear a speaker apart real fast before you notice it. Not for the Gain is my volume knob.

i can read a tape measure and use screws and nails, the table saw is my problem, i dont have access to one, and dont feel like buying one, so figured itd just be easier to have one built, than to buy the saw, and still have to build it lol

No, but you should have a subsonic filter to cutoff the frequencies below the frequency your box is tuned for to prevent the sub from being damaged by over excursion.
