I respect everyone you listed, but this place would be worse off right now if they were mods.

And a few of them WERE mods, and left....so saying they'd stick around if they were mods, is untrue.

All of them except for 3 were, only one I see active here and he said he didn't want to be a mod.

I guess because I post a lot and am active on the forum means I wouldn't be a good mod. *sigh*

I'd just like to say that I think it's hilarious that some people can actually find room to complain about what I do here.

People complain about the rick rolling in threads. I start a new thread, stating that if you mask this website behind another link, you'll get banned. People them complain about that, as if it's so important to them that they are still allowed to do this, when it's really not that big of a deal- tells you their level of maturity.

I do my best to help out in the classifieds- I've gotten over 300 PM's in the last month alone about people asking for help when it comes to a transaction- people asking for IP checks, asking to verify sources, asking for my opinion when it comes to a deal...I take the time to help them out.

You guys act like I'm taking away freedoms- it's a friggin internet forum, is it that big of a deal? I take the time to try and clean this place up and make it better, and I get *****ed at for it.

I respect everyone you listed, but this place would be worse off right now if they were mods.

some of them did leave as mods, but later. after they realized just what this place has become...and to be honest...what it means to be a moderator here.

to be honest, i don't have a clue. this place has gone to hell, no two ways about it. but those are the names, off the top of my head, that i would like to see as mods. also, yourself, jmac, and a few others, wouldn't be bad choices to replace the ones that aren't here. but my honest opinion is this, and take this however you wish, but no offense is intended...

the entire system/forum needs flushed, and rebuilt. the mod staff, the forum, the members, everything. and start fresh. this place is too far gone. any attempt at changing it is seen as being "nazi" or power mad, or something. lose all post counts, everything, start new. have goob assign an active admin, a permanet moderator staff (and no, i don't need to be one) based upon the advice of the admin he selects and establish a firm set of rules and enforce them. but trying to turn this place around is like masterbating with a cheese grater, while somewhat pleasant and potentially rewarding, it's just mostly painful and bloody.

i know that's not going to happen, and this place is a lost cause, which is why i don't bittch about it much. it just flat doesn't do any good, and won't as long as goob stays disassociated with the forum and there is no active admin to back up the mods.

Pretty much summed it up, can't say I disagree with you.

It all comes down to the Admin. We only have so much power as far as running this place.

I wouldn't wipe out post counts, as I think that's a bit too drastic, but I'd take away the lounge posts from the post counts, should tell a good story about who contributes what outside of the lounge.

There are a couple of current mods that I'd still keep, as I feel there are a couple that still do good here, and still actually come around and remain active.

well, i guess the response i'm looking for is exactly what you asked for. i named names, you don't like all of them. so follow up. don't just bash and quit. true, you're not mad at the current system, but then again, you are pressing for someone to name you it seems. and i don't fault you for that, but just because one is active here (and this may or may not pertain to you) doesn't necessarly make them the best choice for moderator. but that is how goob likes to see it.

I agree I will never get voted in. I have made too many enemies. I responded to your names by saying hardly any of them are active. I haven't seen zane in at least a couple years, bigbassman used to be a mod and I haven't seen him in forvever, frosty and ss are still mods but left, helotaxi used to be a mod but seems to go on hiatuses. Denim still lurks around and squeak has said he didn't want to be a mod. It's silly to institute people who aren't here as mods.

one could get away with wiping out offtopic posts instead of all posts. but, IMO, to do it right, would be to start over from scratch. even God didn't get it right the first time...that's why the dinosaurs are extinct.

you have valid points, but as previously mentioned, it matters not as long as goob can give two shits less what happens. all he is concerned with is traffic and with the site name being what it is, he'll always have that. who cares about the actual reputation or quality of the place. al gore built this vast, world wide network so countless no0bs, like himself, can get online and annoy everyone, lol.
