ATTENTION everyone Running 2000watts or more!

Ive been wanting to run two or three 1000 watt amplifiers in my truck for sometime now. But Im really worried about the electrical. Ive heard so many nightmare stories of bad H/O alternators or bad batteries..... and capacitors are ineffective.

I want to run over 2k watts but its not worth it to me if I'll have problems with my Daily Driver. I dont want to ruin my vehicle.

Can any of you give me some insite into how ur vehicles have handled stronger systems? any problems you had or changes you had to make? troubleshooting...? I appreciate it.

I am running in the area of 4kw-5kw.

I have a 200A alty and 2 G31 yellowtops. The vehicle had no issues with the power even with the stock 90A alty.

I run 2000 watts on my sub in my Saleen Mustang...Stock alt...with a Batcap 2000 under the hood and one in the trunk...no probs so far....

I have big 3, a Optima YT, and a stock alt and it still does good for daily beating voltage wise on 2k rms on a puss lil 105amp alt.. I do have a 200Amp HO coming from Mr Iraggi Next week and a 2nd deep cycle in the works by the end of the month...That is all

I run 2k watts on my cobra mustang and only an extra battery in back, and stock alt.

just buy a couple of cheapie walmart batteries and wire them in parallel in your trunk...that should be PLENTY enough power and cost you under 100 for the bats and maybe another 65 for the interconnects.

Big 3 upgrade, 2 runs of 0awg ea +/-, 2 bigred batts., 200amp HO alt, 2500rms, no problems.

I run 2500 off of a stock alt, stock battery under the hood, big three, and a small Stinger SP1000 in the back, and I've never had a problem. *knocks on wood*

UH, no. Not unless you overcharge your battery's with an external battery charger and boil the shit out of them. Remember kids, when you boil water/acid batteries you create home made hydrogen which is explosive. however, the concentration is soooo low that it will never ignite with even as much as 20 batteries in your trunk. So in short, you can add as many batteries and fumes arent an issue.

I run 2k on my stock electrical + the big 3. Lowest I've seen it dip is 12.7v.
