Atrend Box's

I'ts not dumb..... if a person doesn't have the tools or the materials it can add up well over 120 depending on how many sheets you need and what brand saw/drill you get. If your talking dewalt or craftsmen it would be a 200-250 dollor box not including the 5-8 hours it took to do the math and blueprinting and building and clean up. Now who sounds stupid???

thing i like is when people say "i can make my own for 50 bux". ok 50 for materials and how long for the labor to build it yourself? why is their own personal time not worth any money? these people are cheap i'll hire them if they're free labor to do everything for me. hey *****es custom make my box.
I don't mind building so I do them for free for friends if they supply materials, it takes a day and a half, not a big deal when I'm off school for the summer.

umm all you need is a **** drill and a jig or router 10 bucks for glue/screws. and really you think your time is worth that much eat a dick lol

I called Atrend and talked with Ernie the sales guy and he gave me the run down on the 12TDXD. Its tuned to 38 hz, and he also told me they had a specific alpine enclosure at one time, that alpine designed and tested. Hey also told me for the low earthquaking bass that the 1.9 Transmission vented diamond audio (12TDXD) was my best option for a dual box design. He said if space isn't an issue, that he would recommend the large 2.5cu SPL box that is tuned to 44hz which I think is a lil too high.

Anyways We talked for about 20 min on vent placement/design, tuning, vol and all kinds of random shiz. He said they love customer feed back and customers that appreciate and speak highly of there enclosures and is sending me a T-shirt for their appreciation. They seem like really nice and knowledgeable people and have AWESOME tech support. I give them a 5 out of 5. To sum it up, if you don't have the tools like a router/drill/material and time then I defenetly recomend Atrend for prefab enclosures.

End of story

Looks pretty good for a pre-fab.

Ill never run a prefab though. The point of building your own box isnt the cox effective side of it. Its the fact that in planning, you now have the ability to decide how loud your woofer will get, how much power it will take, and how it will sound. You can never customize a prefab because they only come in the sizes they offer. If you dont understand that, then you aren't in this hobby for the sound. You just want something to annoy people with at a stop sign or something.

I agree Atrend Boxes are sick, best pre-fabs around. That enclosure is an Atrend TDXT enclosure and it is specific for diamond audio subs. If its the 12TDXD then I believe it tuned to 38 Hz and if its the 10TDXD its tuned to 44 Hz. However i'm not sure if thats the best enclosure for your Type R sub. It really depends on what gen Type R you have because I know that the new 4th gen Type R is shallower and only has about a 5-6 mounting depth and requires less cu. ft. I have had the opportunity to hear a single Type R sub in an Atrend 10LSV and it pounded. Not only did it shake the ground the sub didn't skip a beat, it picked up every frequency.

I admit, Atrend Enclosures have wicked service, I have had a few custom boxes built from them. I just gave them the specs and for the price and quality you can't beat them, even by going to your local shop.
I also recommend them!
I was at a dealer near me and came across this box and bought it for one of my buddy's...he's big on representing his colors. This was awesome and he friggin loved it, I guess Atrends working a "rep your colors" line of boxes. This was a badass idea. Will share some pics soon, you might find it on their site atrendusa.com
Lol, I am assuming these guys, and possibly the OP are all ATrend workers/salespeople? Let me guess, they are located in Chicago, Il? Haha

Anyways, on topic. It sounds like a typical prefab box, tuned way too high, and I am sure the carpet will start falling off soon. Who cares if they use 1 inch MDF? You are using Type Rs lol. 3/4 inch is even overkill for them.
