another option which is what many dr's recomend for people that need to lose weight very quickly for like open heart surgery or other types of surgery is the grapefruit diet.....now it is a short term diet only....not a long term type of diet......i might suggest trying it and seeing if it might work....my dad went on it and it worked....it was just hard for him to stick with it.....its very similar to the atkins tho.....and as w/ any diet....excercise will always help....the more the better....but just a little bit every day wouldnt hurt anything.....

thats seems kinda shady. it says to eat fat and butter and carbs. i dont see how youd lose any weight

my understanding was it was the combination of foods.....might do a google search for the "grapefruit diet" and see if u can find any other info.....i know my dad lost some weight on it....was just hard for him cause he couldnt stand the grapefruit...... i've read several reviews on it and it gets mixed results...but this is definatly not a long term diet....

i hate grapefruit too. lol. but do you know how strict you have to be to that diet. cause theres no way i could make myself eggs and bacon EVERY morning. you know?

it would be virtually impossible for me to follow that diet exactly. oh well, im gonna give atkins another week or 2 before i quit
You're not doing it right. I've gone from 200 to 181 in 4 weeks so far. For your first two weeks you eat ZERO carbs. After you induction phaze you can up it to 20 carbs. Not impact carbs but every carb.

I have not been exercising and still lost 19 pounds in 4 weeks. Imagine If I had been exercising!

Remember screw impact carbs. Count every carb. First two weeks ZERO and I meen ZERO carbs.

You will know you have entered in to ketosis after about 4 days when you get the runs.

Oh and stop frickin weighing your self. Let your clothes tell you it is working. I had to start wearing my belt again.

The best diet that I ever had was to eat a normal sized breakfast, skip lunch, and eat a slightly larger dinner than usual. Eat dinner maybe a little earlier. You will be hungry as crap the first week or two, but you will get used to it. Also, try to not eat ANYTHING after about 6 p.m. If you eat earlier you will be able to burn off some of the calories through normal activity. Also, low calorie WILL WORK FOR EVERYONE, it is just a matter that it takes more will power. You can do a low calorie diet and not exercise, however it will have to be a much more extremem low calorie diet than if you were more active.

forgot about the 0 carbs part....been about a year since i went on int...and i lost my 50 lbs in about amonth or a little more....then i stopped....

its actually better to eat small meals every couple hours so that you matabolism maintains itself...if you eat alot 4 times a day your body has to work 10x harder to burn the big meal(s) you've eaten...

dude. how about this.

eat smaller meals often, lets say four quarter sized meals a day, latest meal round 6 or so.

drink lots of water, and do some kind of exercise each day for like 15 mins.

if you want to loose weight, do it.

if not. be fat and accept it. get some willpower man, hell - for all you know exercise might be a stress reliever for you.
