Astro for daily..

con-gas(though gas prices are decreasing and down to 79.73 lowered -6.86 so far today per barrel)
I definitely considered this.. but as it has come down like you said, i've pushed that reason aside for now haha. I'd like to get the astro.. but most people i've seen have them on here are competing with them in some form or another.

buy one. they get decent gas mileage untill u put 4,000lbs worth of equipment in them. i hope mines drivable after i get finished with it cuz id like to be able to drive it to shows when they are closer instead of it only being a trailer queen.

heh. My buddy's got a 98 Astro on airbags and 18" wheels. Them bastards look great slammed to the ground! Have yet to do the system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/satan.gif.9c6a335ed7aeeed3ee273e573f1fcaac.gif

**** i had an astro, and i had some plans for it.

but the radiator hose broke loose on the freeway, and my head gaskets blew. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

but yea. id say the onyl thing wrong with it, is the gas mileage.

that car was with me for my whole life (car my parents bought cause i was born and it became mine when i was able to drive)

well just an update, went to the shop talked the owner down to 900 cash, told him i'll try to get it together today, went to the bank and had to wait in line forever as they are always backed up on saturday.. finally got the cash and went back and his shop was closed for the day and it's not open tomorrow... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif... figures. So I have to wait until monday as they only have a shop number on the store front.

Got to look it over though and it's pretty cool inside, has the utility type things right behind the front seats from they can be taken down as just a few screws hold the actual things in.

I know people who daily drive Astros with 10-15k+ rms in them. Not a problem. The ride in my Express is much better, but it has a suspension built for it. The Astros have a much softer suspension and they get real rough.

If you can deal with that, go for it. They still get around 18mpg with a pretty big system in them.

appreciate the input, was looking for an express but couldn't pass up this astro on the price. Only problem looks to be that sometimes the ****** doesn't shift so I have to put it into first then drive, he said it's only done it twice but eh.. least i'll have the ride.

I highly doubt my system will weigh enough to affect the suspension, going to start small..lol as i'll be broke anyhow.

I love Astro's, I've had several. There is soo much you can do with them. Check out http://www.astrosafarivans.org, lots of great info there, and lots of great guys to talk to. Anything from lifting to lowering to motor swaps, you name it its all there.

A peak at my last two:

Thats really no reason to buy a gas guzzler now. We know that gas prices can explode at any time and the gas companies and oil producers know we will still pay $140 per barrel and $4+ per gallon.

what year is the bottom one? the one i'm getting is a 94, wondering on if the billet grill i'm considering will go all the way across the front end and cover the lights or if it justs does inbetween them.

The blue one was a 94, the red a 98. The billet grille you are talking about is probably one that goes between the lights. there was a phantom grille you could get that would cover the lights, but I don't believe that one is made anymore and is hard to find. Check with the guys on the website I told you about and they will have more info for you, I haven't talked to those guys for awhile. AudioAnonymous on this site was also a member over there, not sure if he still goes there or not.
