Assembling a recone

stop pinchin pennies brah

your gonna waste alot of time and itll probably cost you more to build it yourself then just ordering a drop in and that isnt counting in the frustration that comes with it.

Its not hard at all but it really helps if you know the center point of your coil. I.E. from the bottom on the first spider to the bottom of the coil its 3.25in for it to be centered properly in my lvl 5.

Maybe cut the old recone out and measure it. After that its a piece of cake lol

PS have lots of glue handy

I did this ^^^ Just measured the spider to the coil, then used a few pieces of thick paper (a manila envelope cut up) to center the coil in the gap at each step.

Google it, I found a couple good tutorials with pictures. I used thick CA glue (rubberized is better) with activator and "amazing goop"

soldering alum coil to leads is something that takes a lil skill to do correctly. the coil should be centered in the top plate. with muti spider setups it gets a little tougher to get the glue joints proper. lil trick take some 80grit and rough up the spider a lil where its glued, such as spider to spider let the ca glue soak in before spraying with acc..

i guy that has built many subs/recones will hold up way better than a newbie.

doing a recone takes 3 types of glue ca,epoxy,e6000.

Yeah, if you haven't done it several times it's probably best to have someone more knowledgeable do it. I'm trying to find someone in my area that can do it so I don't have to pay out the *** in shipping.

Just take your time and it shouldn't be too hard. Shim and measure properly and you should be good to go. I just assembled 1 yesterday in ~1hr
