that's not in a vehicle. That just shows one graph for one box alignment in one vehicle. It really doesn't show that the Arsenal will play flatter.

In general, a driver with more xmax is capable of more linear output; it's that simple. The ways that xmax is rated vary, but 70% of rest BL is the point at which distortion becomes "noticeable" and output drops by 3dB. Sure, you can go beyond xsus or xmag and approach xmech, but you will see substantial power compression at this point and performance will be compromised; this is exactly why xmax was developed.
Well, distortion beyond xmax is noticeable...how much more audible it is than when at exactly xmax is debateable though.
And your argument about output related to BL and the suspension only further supports xmax, as it considers both of these areas (although xmax clearly does not consider the raw BL or BL^2/Re).
Please show one of these real world tests. I am not saying that you are wrong, but I will believe it when I see it.

I would say a little bit is understating it. Without any sort of passive radiation, the cones movement is the only thing creating sound, no replacement for displacement. Plus your forgetting the difference between x-mech and xmax. A l7 may have 12"xmax, but it CAN move quite a bit further, albeit distoreted. A sub that plays music loud and cleanly is a totally different beast all together from an SPL monster, 2 very differnent designs, avalanches and arsenals are BOTH the former. One needs to play a wide frequency range with low distortion, the other simply concentrates on one frequency and wangs away.Well I guess then using your logic and Avalanche is louder then a hAvoc..... An 05xxx is louder then an SX..... an 06xxx is louder then an MT.....And also the loudest sub on the planet.......That would make a brahma louder then a magnum..... Ohh and a W7 would just PWN a DP. Wrong in all those cases why? Because when your trying to get loud one thing matters. How much air can you move near the tuning frequency of your box? How much power can you dump on your subs without over excurting them? Sealed boxes do rely a LITTLE bit more on XMAX, but definately not ported boxes.
He said LINEAR output, not output period. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gifWell I guess then using your logic and Avalanche is louder then a hAvoc.....
