Ascendant Audio Assassin line out

X2, looks like a flat dustcap to me...

any better pictures of it?

can't seem to find any close ups ... looks nice though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

lol... there's not back to be had I assure you.
I never entered this thread to attack Adire and especially not Dan Wiggen's personally

Dan was nothing but cordial on the telephone we simply took issue with false timelines...

What kind of arrogant condescending smart *** remark is that? I’ll tell you right now, I don’t post much on forums because all it does it lead to trouble, hence right now. I never post my thought on subwoofer design or anything in between because there’s always someone to argue with you or claims to know more, I had rather my products speak for themselves. But enough is enough…..Let it go…..

Or if you wish we can go one on one….

The point Nick was simply that nobody was attacking Dan/Adire (at least I was not) in the first place so there wasn't "back to be had". I'm sorry that point wasn't clarified further. As anyone who chooses to read this thread in full will realize that I was in fact trying to level out the playing field giving both sides credit and both the benefit of the doubt. I simply pointed out that since nobody knows the whole truth people should judge their personal experiences and MOSTLY the value, capabilities, etc. of the products that each company offers themselves.

You can AIM me YenkoDevil69 if you want to discuss something in particular though I don't care to discuss Adire itself

I don't comment on speaker designs I comment on technology and try to explain exactly the benefits AND the negatives of ALL of the different ways to approach motors in particular (though I would LOVE if people cared about Cms as much as they seem to care about motors as it's more important than motors in a lot of cases)

Anything beyond that in this thread, I was simply stating AA could in fact be using technology equal to or cheaper than XBL2...

From the pictures of the VC and top plate thickness on the assasin I can only assume they're either using a t-pole lower power handling overhung, extended pole piece overhung (like the Dayton MKIII uses to flatten it's BL and the Lambda TD uses), or simply regular overhung ... and that's at least on the assasin and I have no idea if Chad employed "his" technology for that line

More or less I think this thread should be kept to AA talk and leave Adire (a now completely unrelated company) out of the thread

Chad's dealings with XBL2 have been addressed and cleared up... some personal attacks occurred from AA supporters and from Adire itself and just end it... nothing will benefit from further discussion

I concur.

Blah blah

Blah blah blah
You know what ASSuming does don't you?

Also, from the pics...I'd like to know how it sounds. Because UNDOUBTEDLY...you also know how it sounds and performs from the pictures as well. Right?

You need to be careful how you word things and what you say. I've been know to make examples out of people, don't take that wrong but you came very close to pushing my buttons. You seem to take well to pictures......the last thing you need to do in this business is assume!

Have a Nice Day!!

the sound would be completely dependent on what AA is using... which like I admitted I have no idea

too much else like CMS linearity etc influence sound and especially in sub frequencies when sound isn't distinctly represented with distortion anyway it's hard to predict anything about it

anyone who's designed speakers know's from a picture of a motor and knowing dimensions (mostly vertical height is what helps here) what could possibly be used

the first two methods... either t-yoke or with extended pole can offer a very flat BL... which makes up 70% of distortion products for most subwoofer frequencies

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif Commenting about educated observations about the motor mean nothing to the speaker itself... just helping out people who want to know but can't find any information about it yet

and no the only reason I said what I said was this was a thread about AA and what tech they could be using (or it was for awhile)... I gave my educated guess about what possible techs they COULD be using...

anyway next time read a bit more before jumping to conclusions as you would have noticed that not only did I say a minute amount about Adire in this thread but that I was fair to both companies... and both of their sides (well I thought I was being fair but Dan apparently disliked it very much)

Can't please everyone...

Do you ever shut up? Really, can't you just leave the thread as it is...and be quiet. I believe EVERYONE could agree with that...and I'm sure most would follow suit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
