As loud as possible subwoofer system recommendations (Audi A4 B5 Sedan)

Sorry for posting this as I can tell it gets posted a lot. I currently have no equipment, aka no case, amp or subs.

Number of subs preferred: No clue, however many required to make the most amount of noise.

Size preferred (if configuration allows): Whatever is best, here is a picture of the trunk size of the car.

Budget: 2000$ ish

Space available (take measurements, do not guess): Refer to trunk size image

Goals: Shake as much as possible within the car, and preferably outside the car. Hair tricks would also be really great.

Listening habits: Anything that shakes

Preferred brands/subs/whatever: I like the look of ground zero subs, but I would rather have a better sub that looks worse.

Thanks for the quick reply! I could probably build a custom box but I don't really have a lot of woodworking experience so I am unsure if the result would be better than a prebuilt box. I don't really have a lot of woodworking tools but I guess you can say I have most basic tools, and also a drill press if that would be useful. I live in Norway so lumber/screws/glue is probably 30-35% more expensive than most other countries, if not more. Adding more batteries wouldn't really be an issue, and I could also upgrade the alternator I guess. I would want to run as many watts as possible if that means more shaking

Wouldn't a high-quality cable kit be "everything" I need for installation?

Read myself up on custom building a box, seems like everyone agrees that it is basically a must to rattle my neighbors doors and make as much noise and vibration as possible. I have not a single clue however how I would go about designing a box that is actually good though, doesn't seem like the building stage is too difficult though.

The big issue here is that 2000$ is probably about enough to get you ready to buy big-boy amp and subs that will get you very loud or enough to buy a decent head unit plus electrical upgrades to support the big amp and subs.

High output alternator in USA runs 500$ give or take you're going to need 600$ worth of additional battery to support 5K amp and you very probably want an aftermarket head unit (plus install kit) and at least a modest size 2 channel amp and some components or coaxials up front in your doors to keep up. So that's about 2000$

5000W amp (full bridge) will be 500$, two solid woofers that will handle that power will be 500-600$ each, box will probably be 200$ in materials, then you will want 300$ for cables (1/0 cable back to your battery bank and big amps will need multiple runs of 1/0 to their terminals), RCA cable, speaker cable, and battery terminals. Also about 2000$

I may even be under-estimating the cost of equipment and materials over in Europe but I'd say you'd want to plan to spend about 4000$ for a build that could put up around 150dB on the meter and be solid enough that you would be able to play for extended periods of time without worrying about premature failure because you had to cut corners.

As far as box building. If you have a power drill/screw gun, circular saw, and jigsaw you can do just about anything. Caulking gun should be 5$ and 10$ worth of construction adhesive goes a long way in making up for amateur uneven cuts. If you want to get pretty power sanding and a router is nice, but certainly not required. I've bought tools to build a box for about 100$ used at a pawn shop when I was on vacation one year so that I could build something simple to run in a competition. Wasn't pretty, but got loud. Anyway, yes you absolutely want to build it yourself and many manufacturers will have plans published on their website and you could probably even ask for help around here.

If you still want to proceed you may need to prioritize what you want first and start upgrading as you can, but you definitely do NOT want to buy a 5K or 8K amp and try to run it without electrical upgrades. It will break. Personally I'd start with decent head unit, 2 or 4 channel amp and some nice fronts. Get good wiring run to the back of the vehicle then possibly the subs and box and just buy a tiny amp for subs to keep you going until you can get your electrical upgrades right then add that + big amp.

Jeez that's a lot of money for some loud noise, don't really think I would want to spend 4000$ on that. Surely it would be possible to have a very loud subwoofer system for 2000$?

Subs and amp should be a good combo. I would really want to see the box in person or at least get precise dimensions and hope build quality is OK.

You will want upgrade alternator and additional battery(s) to support 3K amp like that.

Again, you still will not have any wire, battery terminals, fuse holders, RCA or speaker cable, or head unit + install kit for head unit.

Go with JL Audio..it's the best n beats the hardest n cleanest n doesn't sound like crap..I've got a 12w7 in a custom JL ported box with a JL 1000 watt amp for sale. THIS is a kickass setup. I paid 2000k for it but I'll sell for $1200 to ya..barely used, selling to buy a trans for my car so I'm taking a loss on it but my loss ur gain..buy this setup n see if ur car can put out the juice needed to push it..u get up in the higher systems n u start adding extra batteries, alternator, exc..

Lol he needs to avoid jl period if he wants loud as possible on a moderate budget.

He needs atheist a pair of 15s in a wall sub and port forwards tuned low with a pretty big port and at least 3k for decent hair tricks.

My bet is he can only fit a pair of 12s in that configuration in which a set of 15s 4th ordered might perform better and allow different placement of the subs while still directing airflow into the cabin.

Hair tricks in a trunk rear firing ain't happening on that budget. Too much energy will be lost through the truck seal and the truck will rattle like crazy
