12w6v2 for pure SQ , in a small sealed box ( preferably JL's own box that's made for it ) .... and i'm not even a JL fan.

not on the list, but if you are considering PURE SQ shouldn't an IDQ be on the list?

It's on mine, I went from a 12W6v2 to a IDQ15.

propperly set up for sq a solobarric will more than hold its own. ever hear the old team kicker sq cars? think they would have won with "horrible sounding" anything?

How about install? I know the l7s have won some awards how many folks have taken some big wins home with the se's? No, I havent never even heard an se and am not trying to diss on them at all. Honestly, the SE can more then hold its own. The IDmax, W6, Mag are all well respected subs. Remember...for pure SQ the sub isnt the main factor in a make or break situation, as your sub should be well blended enough that you dont even notice its there. If the driver is capable at producing a good tone at lower to moderate volume with a good transient responce it is my opinion that any sub in these guidelines can work well.

EDIT: forgot about the L7....

They are great subs dont get me wrong, they also sound great sealed. I personally have never had the chance to get to use them to any long period. So my reasoning for putting them last was based on the installs that I had heard them in.
