Are there SQ subs and amps that are clearly winners

Ok, that seems to make sense, same high end amp or speaker may sound shitty to someone that likes different "sound"

And I guess if you use quality products for install, like damplifing, custom box, good wiring you will get the best out of your parts.

you may as well use what you have. Aside from alleged noise issues, i doubt you will notice much of a difference between your sundown amplifier and other brands in the same price range. I hate to break it to you but sound quality is more about your installation/setup/tuning than it is about your choice of amplifiers and choice of speakers (assuming you have decent stuff to begin with). Iirc the formula is 85% install, 10% equipment choice, and 5% beer.
Then again, what do i know... I only went through 39 amplifiers and 5 vehicles since 2006...

I'd agree that install is 85% of it. It is for the true audiophile that the gear really comes into play. For me, just chaging out the amps and nothing else made the stage depth increase 6" and the width 4".....there is indeed a difference. Basically, the better the install the better you are. For a "audiophile" it is NEVER done correctly. I dont know how else to put it.

I can't seem to find any specific thread on this. I already got ID subs/speakers and Sundown amps. But whatever amp or sub someone reccomend few minutes later I find another post that it's not that good.t good. I cannot find info on what amps are the best when it comes to sq. I mean are there amps out there that clearly everyone knows that they're good/best at what they're supposed to do. I'm not talking about some ridiculous price, just something that cost a bit more but clearly is good at it.Also is there a sub company like that ? what would be the sq winner of subs ? Fi, Sundown, ID, Incriminator, SSA.......list is soo long.
Are you competing? Because if you are, what matters most is what costs the most. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Dude, they are all giving you opinions.. Let me share something.. "Opinion's are like a@@holes everyone's got one.. go out and listen to some different brands and pick the one you think sounds the best yo.. if you cant find something local to hear that you see online.. then make sure your buying from a place that offers no questions asked 30-Day return/exchange/refund..

Ppl here can recommend all day long.. but its their preference what they are telling you.. its always the underdog! ^)^

You can't argue that superior distortion and THD is just an opinion...

that's true for a true "audiophile" your car is never done lol
lol No comment but took the words right from my mouth.

JL, Eminence Dynaudio also great SQ subs. Many more than just those 3 everyone seems to be sold on.

True audiophiles stay away from car audio all together due to the fact that they do not have 100% control over their listening environment. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I only totaled one car in that time frame and that was because a drunk driver crossed the center line and hit me:

The other vehicle switches were because I wanted something different. Which reminds me, I am ready for something different.
I was j/k'ing.

Additinally, no need to reference "max" anything as those specs are useless. Most of know how to look at specs for a given speaker, amp, HU, etc...

I think Taramps has a 1200.1 @1 ohm amp out there too or an 1800.1?? But for the price of an 1800.1, you can find a decent 2 k for the $ or a 1500.1

Need to know your setup. Just curious, before you connected it, did you check your resistance for your subs?
