This is a common misunderstanding of RC's amplifier watt test. He stated a watt is a watt and has no acoustic signature. He did not state all amplifiers sound the same. His test requires bypassing anything like internal processing, thereby negating any true comparison of products sonically. Simply put, the test is designed to run an amplifier in a manner it would not be operated in for normal use, hence making your correlation between his test and your hypothesis that he meant all amps sound the same, incorrect.Just get the cheapest amps with the most power. Sony, Pyle, Jensen, TIS, come to mind. It doesnt matter what amp you get because they all sound the same. This has been proved by the Richard Clark Challenge. There is absolutely NO reason to waste your money on expensive amps.
Cheers.
