Are there different sized pulleys for HO alts?

Im planning on getting a 160 amp alt for my blazer. Ive seen a lot of posts about people saying that their voltage drops a lot at idle and putting a smaller pulley on will help. But then ive read smaller pulley means its spinning faster all the time and that can be bad? just wonderinf if there is a pulley thats a tad smaller than stock ones to raise the alts rpms up a little but not too much to kill it quicker.
