Are there any negatives to this setup?

I am installing my new 4-channel amp tomorrow and I do not want to rewire each door speaker. I am planning on sending all 4 amped wires to the back of the headunit and connecting to each existing factory speaker lead. Are there any negatives to doing this other than adding an extra connection in the signal?

longer distance between amp and speaker, but if the wire is of sufficient gauge I don't see a problem with it.
