Are there any loans being given out?

You mentioned that your current car has had quite a few problems. Be careful as 2.5k is not a whole lot for a reliable car and you dont want to end up in the same spot you are in now, and at the same time have an outstanding loan on a broken car.
It's a 2000 s10... they've always been dependable ( the 4.3 v6 has atleast) and I'm going to have it inspected first.

1)This is false?
If for some reason you are having trouble securing that car loan because you have no credit history or bad credit you could look for a company that offers co sign loans. What this means is that the loan will be secured by two parties which could be you and your parents or another relative or whoever you choose. This is great for students and teenagers because it helps them to establish a credit rating and history in their name.
"Teenagers" meaning 18-19yrs old.......no one is going to give you a loan if you are not legally eligible to sign a contract.

I know in the state of VA you HAVE to be 18 to go on any loan. It is a legal contract and no one under the age of 18 can even be on a loan(even with a co-signer)

If I am not the main signature?
Anything you sign will be unenforceable against you. It will not be a legally binding contract as you are not legally capable of entering into a contract. Period.

They might give mommy or daddy a loan. But you are too young to enter into a legally binding contract, by law. A loan agreement is a legal contract.

sigh...guess I'm going to have to try to get someone to get the loan for me I guess
That's pretty much what you'll have to do. Have someone else get the loan and you pay them. With no credit or extra income other than your SS, they won't even put you on the loan. It'd be easier just to have your grandparents claim they're receiving the SS if their income wouldn't suffice for the loan.

Even if you were 18, you have no credit and no job. Neither of which look good on a loan. Once you turn 18, get a credit card ASAP and start buying shit on it and paying it off so you can start building your credit.

You could get a job near you that doesn't require a car to get to. Walk, ride a bike. Earn your own money. Save, dont' spend it. Buy a car.

Really a loan is of no use to you if you don't have an income you can't pay it back. Starting with a loan, to then get a car to get a job, you can drive to, to pay back the loan starts you in the negative and you'll always be playing catch up. Untill you have a problem (like a transmission problem) and then default on your loan. Then you will have bad credit, no car and no job and no money, just like 39 million other Americans.

Don't tell me there are no jobs near you. I won't believe it.

I won't have time for a job until summer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif school, physical therapy, and football conditioning.

and in our small *** town, I'd be very hard pressed to find a job
