Are my XS Power D3400 batteries done for?

WHy is it bad to let them sit on a concrete floor? I've heard this before, but don't know why that is
I've always heard that batteries discharge faster when sitting on concrete too. Better safe that sorry I guess.

This concrete thing is a myth. There is no evidence or science to support it.

Also this thread is why I buy batteries from brands with national distribution and warranty. If those were Sears Die Hard Platinum, or even parts store's premium brands you could just walk into the store put them on the counter, and get new ones tomorrow.

and just having a battery sit and recharge is not cycling them.

you need to load them down, then charge.

i have been messing with all types of batterys for over 20 years.

i can get most batterys back, just depends on how bad they are, how long they were down.

i use a parking light do load a battery.

but you have to watch it.

or whats better is a charge that will discharge, wait , then charge.

i would do that 5-6 time...

then see what you have.

if it starts holding a charge,, then great.

if not time for new batterys.

o forgot, safe discharge is 11.6 volts.. no lower. for agm , gel cell..

I googled it and apparently it used to be true with older rubber-case batteries, but the new plastic-case batteries are unaffected by the concrete floors.
Either way, I moved the old front battery from my truck off my garage floor to the top of a 5 gallon bucket

Yeah, that's the general consensus I got from other sites on the internet. It wont affect the batteries we're using

With 6500 rms.. you are still going to need some battery bank and/or supply for that demand
