Are my subs dying

After the death of my L7 I've been super paranoid with my type r's. I have them wired to 1 ohm and when I connected the speakers wires to the dmm over the past weeks they used to read 1.4, then 1.3, now 1.2. Is that normal? I used to smell a light burning smell but I don't smell it anymore I never clipped them from the HU because the LC6 tells me if I am but once I did turn the level on the LC6 all the way up and did a test and I smelled the burning again but stronger so I turned the level back to where it was. I still didn't clip fron the HU on that test. I took both subs out that thing in the middle still has plenty of green glue around it and it doesn't stink. I checked one VC on one sub and it was 4.0 and I checked one VC on the other and it was moving from 3.7-4.0. The subs are dual 4. They still play loud as they ever did but I was just curious if the reading from 1.4 to 1.2 meant that I was killing them over time?
