Are my Hertz HSK 165's real or fake?

I just bought 2 sets of the Hertz HSK 165's off EBay. The seller was from Canada with 100% feedback that guaranteed they were authentic. After doing some research I see that there are a lot of fake Hertz out there. I contacted Elettromedia and they said they were not in the US database but that they could still be real if they came from out of the county which they did. Anyways here's some pics. Any help greatly appreciated.

Looks real to me. And those are pretty expensive. Heard Hertz was a good brand(Haven't heard the comps in person)

I have a for sale thread of similiar drivers. I have the hv165l drivers which came out of the hsk163 set. Check out the pics and use them to compare

Also listen to them if they sound amazing, their real

I had those before the XLs. The give away is the tweeter wiring

I run Hertz Mille but the biggest indication is the tweeter grill. The real versions have a very fine tweeter grill and the fakes have a coarse grill. The pics show a fine grill so they should be legit.

The real difference between real and fake is how they sound. The fakes sound worse than $20 Sony Walmart coax. So if it immediately sounds like cats being slaughtered, you have fakes.

The real HSK series is awesome and they sound incredible.

That's a good indication, The real things cost. I just paid for a $640 pair of PHD AF 5.25" drivers and separate tweeters. Had to order them from Italy because the only distributor in the U.S. didn't have any in stock. And I need them to fit in the stock 5.25" speaker locations. Saw some cheap copies for significantly less $$wise.

They were $375 per set on Amazon. I paid 265.00 per set. I just looked on eBay to see if he had any more but don't see any from that seller. He was out of Canada.

I'm trying to remember what mine cost. It was years ago. I think the XLs where $650. Maybe around $500 with the crossovers

Hello. Im not a big car guy so need your help. Im looking to purchase the Hertz HCX 165 for my 2012 Escalade which has the stock head unit. Im wondering if these speakers will work for what I'm looking for? I want to have a set of speakers with a clear crisp nice sound to them but also have a good punch/bass. I had a 10" kicker L7 installed but takes up too much space so I'm looking to upgrade my door speakers but be able to keep some good bass. Also, what amp do you guys suggest for these speakers or what other speakers do you recommend?

Midrange's are not for bass at all. That will break them no matter how good they are.

Which is why I wanna dump all my bass requirements to my 12" Alpine slimline sub. Frees up my midrange drivers to do what they do best!
