Are JL subs really fragile or what?

I am looking at buying either 2 12w6s or 2 13w6s and have been searching various sites and forums and have noticed that more than half of the JL subs I see be them w6 or w7s have a torn surround or a cracked cone or some kind of damage to them, if Im spending that kind of money on a sub I spose Id treat it a little nicer and be more careful unless these things are just doomed!

i had a 10 inch w6v2 in the past.......surrounds started cracking....must've been cuz i was running 900w rms to it.........but all in all...great woofer.............................................now only if they would put better surrounds......

Misused by the misinformed users.If u want a w6 go for it,I personally wouldnt spend the money on any other sub from JL.Too many products can do the same and more for the money with better build quailty.BTW in a w6 in a tline is sq ***.

Excuse me but wtf are you talking about? My 12W7 has taken over 1200wrms for a year daily and no problems.

w7 is an anomally and costs like 500 per. And I have seen fore than 1 fail at less than max wattage. there is much better out there for the money
