Are extended warranties dumb?

I got an extended warranty at circuit city on subs and i told my mom and she thinks its a dumb idea cuz i already have 1 year with alpine on type r's but i dont think the warranty covers speaker blow-outs and fried vcs but the extended warrty does plus subs are things get used and abused all the time anyways so are extended warranties dumb or worth it? or juss on particular products i.e. headunits etc thx

well if your the type of person that blows your subs 3 times a year then it's definately worth it. but if your not gonna use it then you shouldn't pay money for an extended warranty.

or if you plan on replacing those subs within the time period of the extended warranty you can sell the ones with the warranty on them as brand new. just blow them and give the person you sold them to the brand new ones.
