The Cop was doing job by shooting at the lady. When she jumped back in her car and sped away, she bacame inherently dangerous to public saftey. Her car is considered a deadly weapon which gives her capability to kill someone. A cop's job is to protect to safety of the American people. There are alot of diffrent reasons to use deadly force, it's not just if the cop feels as though his life was in danger.

Your right you don't see them shoot at driver's in a high speed chase, It's kind of hard to shoot with any type of accuracy from a moving vehicle at a moving vehicle. If they shoot at a driver while they were in the middle of high speed chase then the cop's are also making themselves a danger to the public. Yeah in high speed chases there already is a danger to the public but do you think in a high speed chase that the cop's are acutally pushing the limits of their crusier, no they aren't so they have control of the cruiser at all times.

When stopped for a traffic infraction the officer is required to detain you for a reasonable period of time which has been readily accepted as around 30 mins. After which you can RESPECTFULLY request the officer to give you your ticket, let you go, or detain you in custody.

Searches can be denied and this does not give the officer any kind of right to search your car. He may very well make up some bullshit excuse about how he saw something in your car that resembled something illegal.

Forfeiture laws are such BULLSHIT. Enough said.

On a side note, if you are at a large house party and are arrested for possession of alcohol/drugs (given you are underage for alcohol) you can fight the charge in the event that when you were placed under arrest and searched no illegal substances/objects were found... I really hope someone thinks I'm making that one up because my clean record proves otherwise :p
