i purchased a bazooka amplifier for my 2 12's Rfordfosgate p3's and cant figure why im not getting the sound i want out of them.

when i visited my local stereo guy he was displeased that i got a bazooka amp rather than his less wattage but seemingly higher class amp?

i notice that bazooka amps are class D while the rockfordfosgate amp i was offered was class A but it was a lot less watts

Get a better amp and you will be happier. As a gwneral rule based on my observations over the years: The amp should be worth 2x the speakers/subs it powers. Amps are far more complex than speakers.

Yes, your amp is overrated, you have no knowledge of what it can actually produce in your system. RF is a good brand. It even includes s birth sheet. But his amp isn't Class A. Class D is preferred for subs in most cases. Class A/B is fine too but less efficient.

let me specify i got the bazooka mh1100 it seemed to have all the power specifications the subs would need

it was an 1100 watt amplifier it should of had enough to power my 12's but when u turn the gains up to high it gives me red light showing distortion i believe?

also its not giving the bass i want

what amps could u guys recommend for the subs i have

mb quart? you think those amps would have a big enough difference from bazooka amps? i know for a fact i got more than enough power from my bazooka amp but i cant figure out why its not giving the sound i want...

so the class of amplifier isnt my problem? just the quality of the amp?

As recommended in the Camero5 forum, a ROCKFORD FOSGATE T1500-1BDCP would be worlds better, but more expensive.

That said, the Bazooka amp you linked is a beast. it should be able to get loud enough for most people, we don't know your expectations.

it is possible you have a wiring problem, an installation problem, or both.

what is the impedance of the sub voice coils?

you said you had a 6-channel JL you wanted to test with. before you do that, verify you have the subs correctly wired. you may need to reconfigure the voice coils or the JL amp test.

Custom trunk box (normal/non-vented) for a 2010 camaro, i believe set at 2 ohms with insulation in the box... I dont know the impedence of sub coils

Can u specify what a DMM is? And where can i adjust low-pass filter on the amp?
