Are 4 JL 500/1 better than 2 JL 1000/1?

Just sell them all and buy an IA 20.1. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Very powerful amps and you'll have a nice chunk of change left to buy your subs. I suggest an Fi BTL 12 and an IA 20.1. From what I here, you can safely run the 20.1 at .5 ohm, meaning over 3600w of power. Get a fully-loaded BTL dual-1 and run the 20.1 at .5 ohm and you will be very happy.

The ability to wire at lower ohms doesn't matter in this case because they are JL Slash amps and therefore opperate the same power from 1 ohm to 4 ohms. They should give you pretty close to the same amount of power. Make sure to fuse them properly, those amps (1000/1) love power if you are really pushing them. I've gotten them to bust a 100 amp fuse on a single one before. We had been told it could do that, but never believed. I think the 2 1000/1 would look better than 4 500/1's right next to one another. Two 15's would be great with that setup or 4 12's.
