Arc Audo Flatline : Sealed or Ported?

Hey guys, first system, first sub. Just wanted some opinions on which should I go with for my (1) 12'' Flatline D2which is goin into a 2001 BMW 330 Coupe.

The website Arcaudio.com suggested

Optimum sealed enclosure : .9 cuft

Ported enclosure : 1.8 cuft @32hZ

Any help/advice would be great.

Oh yea, im runnin a 1500 XXK to this sub if thats a factor into this.

Ported if you want a lot of output, sealed if you want tight, consistent bass response.

hell of a nice first setup you've got there. i'd go ported if you listen to a lot of rap, sealed otherwise.

Agreed.

Rap + R&B = Ported.

Rock + Just about everything else = Sealed.

I listen to anything that sounds good, rangin from country to rap to techno. For that type of music would you guys choose Sealed?

Yeah, I'd go with a sealed box... Might want to add a bit of volume to it though... With my flatline, I found that I got a real good sound out of 1.2 cubes. Before displacement, that is.

although arc states that it is a "small sealed enclosure subwoofer", there are a few things that suggest otherwise...

Qes=0.367

Qts=0.332

Fs=23.2hz

EBP=63.2

I would personally go sealed.
