AQ2200D fried, try to find out how!

feelin sick right now so cant get a 100% answer but i was able to get the master amp to work properly.
And, as i originally thought, it was a signal issue.

I dont have time to find out exactly what it is but i did not install that part of the setup so i'm gonna have to go back and see what is goin on exactly back there at a later time.
Sean called me after he got the master amp working. This is an honest man.

He told me that when he couldn't get the master amp to work(after smoking the slave) he went back over his install and decided to check out the installation of the HU, which he did not install, and found his problem. The master amp now works fine. We will see what the slave has to tell us when we open it up.

I appreciate the fact he would call me about his findings; many people would not.

Phase and impedance have nothing to do with each other. Use a DMM and test the DCR of a subs coil. Now reverse the leads on the DMM (put the + to the - on the sub and the - to the +)The reading doesn't change. What the DMM can't tell you is polarity which is absolute phase.
my dmm tells me polarity

ok, enough with the polarity comparisons, lol

It wasn't a polarity issue at all.

The "out of phase" sound i heard before the slave amp went out was a problem with the signal cables.

I just got strep throat so it might a few days before i feel like finding out why the signal isn't being properly sent through these cables.

ok update-

Finally had time to pull the head unit out to inspect the wiring and rcas...

Conclusion.... There's nothing wrong?!?!

Since the sub out jacks weren't working properly, i hooked up the rear output to the master amp for the time being.

When i got back there, i took the rear output and connected it to the sub out to see if the sub out on the HU was damaged.. Nope, it isn't, so just out of curiosity, I reconnected the original sub out jacks to the sub out and Viola, they work now?!?!

I don't know what all that's about but it's ready for action again.
