AQ2200 at .5 Ohms. Possible?

Have talked to dj, and he said plenty of people are running them at.5 ohms daily. Theoreticly he said the amp should put out 3k easy, and even more , but ofcourse that is dependent on the electrical system at .5ohms. Once I get my other 18, I will run both off the 1 2200.1 @.5 ohms

But did he say he recommends it? TommyK said he runs his Kicker 2500 @ 1ohm, but I'm sure it is not recommended.

No owner of a company is going to recommend something not listed in the specs. The amp appears to be solid, I wouldnt be worried running it at .5 ohms, I have done so with other amps.

Gotta remember that the manufacturer has to cover his ***, so he won't recommend it as it puts more strain on the amp and makes it easier to damage it "if" you don't have the electrical to support it. Best way to avoid warranty hassles when dealing with "kids".

Sundown used to warranty the 1500D at .5, but too many guys were being stupid, so he had to drop the coverage. But they'll take .5 no problem if you have the electrical to back it up.

I've been running a PG Octane in the GF's car at 1ohm for over 2 years now and it's only rated at 2ohm.

You know me, Safety first. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif Then again, I run a 1kw rms sub with 2kws daily and have not had issues at all.

And I believe the OP doesn't really have his electrical in order at the moment.

Who is this TommyK character you speak of:confused: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
