aq1200d or better amp with 100amp alternator car

Hi everyone,

I have a mazda 3 2010, which is supposed to have a 100amp alternator.

1- Will 100amp be enough to power and audioque 1200d ( aq1200d ).

2- Do I need to do the 'big 3' or can I wait later for it when I'll get my second amp for the mid/high. ( I don't want to have to add an HO alternator to the car)

3- My budget for the amp is 300-400, is there any other amp in that price range that could be better.

My goal is to run 2 12 inch in a ported enclosure in my trunk.

I didnt choose a sub yet but im going for SQL setup (maybe SA-12's)

I already have this headunit which has a 4 volt output. (pioneer avh-4300dvd)

Do the big 3 in 1/0 and if you need more add a small battery in the trunk.

Thank's HazaGrey75 for the reply, but if I understand well how it work, doesn't adding a batterie will in fact give me LESS free amp from the alternator when the car is running cause the flow of current will go TO the new batterie and thus adding load?

true but it gives you a safety net when the big bass hits...I ran a 1500 watt amp and another 400 watt amp on a 105 amp alt with one battery and would see dimming all the time. When I added a 2nd battery bass hits where stronger and no more dimming...I also got a seperator so my sounds would only run off my 2nd battery when the car was off which is great to not have to worry about a dead battery after you have been chilling with friends and got the sounds going.

do at least big three, if not add the second battery. do the big three in the biggest wire possible. preferably 1/0 wire, and no, the battery doesn't take away from available power to amp. the battery stores the power, if needed the amp pulls the power from the battery.

Twista, what kind of separator were you running? ive been wanting to do something of that sort. any sort of a link diagram, or product link?
