soo many people have that get what you pay for mentality... which i think is what your getting at. And the performance of the hdc3 has kinda reinforced that for most that have used it.

i'm not speaking towards either woofer. i have respect for both.

This is very true, but the SPL12 has been proven to do well over and over again. people just need to see that, but somehow they just all miss it.

Both the SPL 12 and the NightShade are going to hit about the same numbers and sound similar, with the NightShade being slightly better sounding and the SPL 12 being slightly louder. You can't go wrong either way, both companies owners are on this site, Sundown = sundownz and Mach 5 = mrogowski. For daily I would go with the NS just for the fact that it has better cooling that may help it, otherwise it really is a toss up, but the SPL 12 is cheaper.

That is one issue Mach5 has been dealing with, people have the impression that due to the low price (since he runs at no profit) the Mach5 products are bargain equipment.

Mach 5 SPL just cause when you get 3k on it its gonna take it like a champ.
