AQ HDC3 Noise?

Had a customers basket come loose- and it made some odd noises aswell. Make sure that thing isnt loose

what amp are you using?

mabie the amp is cliping. aq's are a lot like dd subs, they have a hella box rise.

lets say you have a 1ohm fimal impeadence and your amp is 1200 rms at 1 ohm, with box rise the sub impeadence is more likely near 2-3 ohms so the sub may only be seeing around 8-900 watts or less.

may be pushing the amp too hard to get the extra "power" out of it and that may be what you are hearing.

free air the sub and get it moving the same amount as it dose when it makes its sound in the box, if while in free air it dosnt make the sound, then its eaither the box or the amp starting to clip.

Yeah, I miss car audio. I'm planning on doing 60+ full tutorials of just about everything in the car audio industry. I've been very committed to reviving this industry...it's been dying locally. Some subs have noise when ran free air.
