AQ HDC3 Noise?

Just bought a new AQ hdc 12" in a 2 cube box @ 37hz and im throwing it about 1100-1200w for the time being. I notice when I turn it up, I can hear like a hollow sound from the sub, almost like some plastic resonating. Kinda worried cause it sounds god awful. Any ideas?

I had the same thing with my 10 on 2400w. Does it have a flimsy dustcap or does it have a dustcap that looks like its coated with resin and is very hard. Mine made that noise and it has a much thinner dustcap than my friends 15" hdc. I found that it goes away if you turn the LPF down, but I would free air it just to see if you can tell any more information. Use test tones too instead of music.

Kinda Off Topic, Is The Pretty Good For a HDC12"? I know ive heard they can take alot more, but thats the size amp i was planning to buy. and the size box i would have been happy with, but i can go up to 2.5 cubes

Let your sub play at the lowest level that it makes a sound at. Then push down on the dustcap as you're playing it....use caution. It could be the dustcap or bad glue joints. We just have to do an elimination process to figure out the problem. Post a video if you can also.

I think maybe some Chinese children didn't put enough layers of fabric in the mold for our dustcaps, or resin. My friends HDC315 has a way better dustcap than my 10 mine pokes in with little effort. Mine makes the noise too with punchy bass over 40hz.
